Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Carole Laure, 77, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for her roles in Maria Chapdelaine, Get Out Your Handkerchiefs or The Threat really single again?

Laure spotted alone

A fan spotted Carole Laure walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 8, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Carole back on the market?

A rep for Carole Laure was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Friday (January 9), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
