Cardinale created a stir on Thursday when rumors have surfaced that her career was over.

Sad news for Cardinale fans. Speculation had been rife that the Italian actress best known for her roles in Hiver 54, l'abbé Pierre or Eight and a Half, is about to announce her retirement from acting, at age 86, with immediate effect.

Other reports hinted that she may branch out into other creative fields she is better at (and more interested in), though they didn't provide any details.
