It has been exactly 7 long years since Debbie Reynolds died in Los Angeles on December 28, 2016 at the age of 84. As a number of online tributes attest, she was one of the most acclaimed actresses of her generation.

Today, fans of Debbie Reynolds (Singin' in the Rain, ...) along with the rest of the film industry have been remembering the iconic woman she was.

Reynolds, a cultural icon

Born Mary Frances Reynolds in El Paso on April 1, 1932, her career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Reynolds was not just a great actress, she was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1952 she touched the hearts of millions as Kathy Selden in ‘Singin' in the Rain’. Her legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering her unique heritage.
