It has been exactly 7 long years since Fats Domino died in Harvey on October 24, 2017 at the age of 89. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed pianists of his generation.
Today, fans of Fats Domino (Blueberry Hill, Ain't That a Shame, ...) along with the rest of the music world have been remembering the iconic man he was.
Domino, a cultural icon
Born Antoine Dominique Domino Jr. in New Orleans on February 26, 1928, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Domino was not just a great pianist, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
In 1956 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘Blueberry Hill’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.
It's been 7 years since the tragic loss of Fats Domino and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Fats Domino is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
