It has been exactly 7 long years since Jean-Marc Thibault died in Marseille on May 28, 2017 at the age of 93. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation.

Thibault, a cultural icon
Born in Saint-Bris-le-Vineux on August 24, 1923, Jean-Marc Thibault's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Thibault was not just a great actor, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
In 1965 he touched the hearts of millions as un aubergiste in ‘Les Baratineurs’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.
