Remembering Jean-Pierre Marielle, 6 Years Later

It has been exactly 6 long years since Jean-Pierre Marielle died in Saint-Cloud on April 24, 2019 at the age of 87. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation.

Today, fans of Jean-Pierre Marielle (Grey Souls, All the Mornings of the World, ...) along with the rest of the film industry have been remembering the iconic man he was.

Marielle, a cultural icon

Born in Dijon on April 12, 1932, Jean-Pierre Marielle's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Marielle was not just a great actor, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1991 he touched the hearts of millions as Monsieur de Sainte-Colombe in ‘All the Mornings of the World’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.

It's been 6 years since the tragic loss of Jean-Pierre Marielle and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Jean-Pierre Marielle is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
