Is the 71-year-old actress officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Mary Steenburgen, 71, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her roles in The Proposal, Step Brothers or Back to the Future really single again?

Steenburgen spotted alone

A fan spotted Mary Steenburgen walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of December 20, 2024. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Mary back on the market?

A rep for Mary Steenburgen was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress was splitting hit the internet Saturday (December 21), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
