It has been exactly 7 long years since Mary Tyler Moore died in Greenwich on January 25, 2017 at the age of 80. As a number of online tributes attest, she was one of the most acclaimed actresses of her generation.

Today, fans of Mary Tyler Moore (The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, ...) along with the rest of the film industry have been remembering the iconic woman she was.

Moore, a cultural icon

Born in New York on December 29, 1936, Mary Tyler Moore's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Moore was not just a great actress, she was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1961 she touched the hearts of millions as Laura Petrie in ‘The Dick Van Dyke Show’. Her legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering her unique heritage.
