Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Melissa Harris-Perry, 52, and her partner had split up. Is the American television host really single again?

Harris-Perry spotted alone

A fan spotted Melissa Harris-Perry walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of August 26, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Melissa back on the market?

A rep for Melissa Harris-Perry was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the television host was splitting hit the internet Thursday (August 27), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
