It has been exactly 11 long years since Pete Seeger died in New York on January 27, 2014 at the age of 94. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed musicians of his generation.

Today, fans of Pete Seeger (Turn! Turn! Turn!, Where Have All the Flowers Gone?, ...) along with the rest of the music world have been remembering the iconic man he was.

Seeger, a cultural icon

Born in New York on May 3, 1919, Pete Seeger's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Seeger was not just a great musician, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1962 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘Turn! Turn! Turn!’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.

It's been 11 years since the tragic loss of Pete Seeger and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Pete Seeger is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
