It has been exactly one year since Tina Turner died in Küsnacht on May 24, 2023 at the age of 83. As a number of online tributes attest, she was one of the most acclaimed singers of her generation.
Today, fans of Tina Turner (We Don't Need Another Hero, Missing You, What's Love Got to Do with It, ...) along with the rest of the music world have been remembering the iconic woman she was.
Turner, a cultural icon
Born Anna Mae Bullock in Nutbush on November 26, 1939, her career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Turner was not just a great singer, she was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
In 1996 she touched the hearts of millions with ‘Missing You’. Her legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering her unique musical heritage.
It's been one year since the tragic loss of Tina Turner and her personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Tina Turner is no longer physically here, her presence is more powerful than ever. She left a void that has yet to be filled.
