Remembering John Abercrombie, 7 Years Later

It has been exactly 7 long years since John Abercrombie died in Cortlandt Manor on August 22, 2017 at the age of 72. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed guitarists of his generation.

Today, fans of John Abercrombie (Timeless, ...) along with the rest of the music world have been remembering the iconic man he was.

Abercrombie, a cultural icon

Born John Laird Abercrombie in Port Chester on December 16, 1944, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Abercrombie was not just a great guitarist, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1975 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘Timeless’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.

It's been 7 years since the tragic loss of John Abercrombie and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although John Abercrombie is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
