Wheeler, a cultural icon

Born Kenneth Vincent John Wheeler in Toronto on January 14, 1930, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in Canadian history. Wheeler was not just a great musician, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1978 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘Deer Wan’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.
