It has been exactly 8 long years since Michel Galabru died in Paris on January 4, 2016 at the age of 93. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation.

Galabru, a cultural icon
Born Michel Louis Edmond Galabru in Safi on October 27, 1922, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Galabru was not just a great actor, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
In 1972 he touched the hearts of millions as Dr. Léon Galipeau in ‘The Annuity’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.
It's been 8 years since the tragic loss of Michel Galabru and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Michel Galabru is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
